Parks and Recreation:
Friendship Park
is located to the rear of E. Alexandria Pike and includes two
ball fields, a multi-purpose soccer field, playground equipment,
picnic shelter, grill, volleyball, horseshoe and basketball courts,
walking/jogging trails and a nature trail.
Municipal Park
is located behind the Municipal Center, and includes a picnic grove,
shelter building, grills, ball field, playground equipment, volleyball
and horseshoe courts. A community room may also be reserved with the
park or to use alone.
Apple Orchard
Park has walking trails and playground
equipment.
Patriot Park
located in the Glenridge subdivision. The park has a shelter,
playground equipment as well as a basketball court.
Sunshine Park
is our City's newest park located in the Granite Springs and Founders
Court subdivision.
Municipal and Friendship parks can be reserved
on weekends for a small fee. To do so contact the city office at
441-9604. Requests are accepted beginning January, so make your
plans early, if possible.

Community Feedback
These activities
and projects, plus our continuing program of improving our parks,
gives us a full agenda for the year, but we are always looking for
community feedback. The Commission welcomes city residents' ideas on
events and recreational features which you would like to add to our
list, so feel free to stop by our meetings and give us your thoughts.
Our monthly meetings have been rescheduled to the first Tuesday of
each month at 6:30 p.m. |
